Synopsis: Two years since talk of Janhvi Kapoor’s Bollywood debut began, things finally seem to have materialised for Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s daughter. Having signed up with Dharma Productions, Kapoor will be seen starring opposite Shahid Kapoor’s younger brother, Ishaan Khatter in her first film, Dhadak. A remake of the award-winning Marathi film Sairat. Dhadak will be directed by the man behind Badrinath Ki Dulhania, Shashank Khaitaan. The film is scheduled to release July 6, 2018. Though this will be the first time audiences will see Janhvi Kapoor on screen, it isn’t Ishaan’s debut since he has already worked with famed Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi in Beyond the Clouds – which is set to release next year. Dhadak will, however, be his first Bollywood project. Karan Johar, who has launched powerhouse performers like Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra under the Dharma banner announced the film and shared a few posters of the film.
